It is my belief that psychotherapy is a collaborative effort between therapist and patient and that a good match promotes effective treatment. My approach is insightoriented from a relational psychodynamic perspective with behavioral tools as needed. I also encourage mindfulness practices and meditation. When indicated, I will suggest medication management. I welcome in my practice patients regardless of their faith, race, and sexual orientation, including those with LGBTQIA+ related issues.

The first meeting is the initial assessment, or intake session, when reasons for seeking treatment may be explored. Background and demographic information are gathered and treatment specifics such as confidentiality, treatment fees, meeting time, and cancellation guidelines are addressed.
Patient will be provided in advance consent forms to complete. These should be in place before the initial assessment session.

The HIPAA compliant tele-health platform Doxy.me is used for virtual sessions. Please be aware that online psychotherapy is not the same thing as meeting for therapy in person and it is also not the same as a typical phone conversation or FaceTime call.
Please make sure that you are in a private space during the session. Turn off all devices other than the one you are using to make the therapy call. Quit all programs other than the one we are using and turn off all notifications.

The relationship between patient and psychologist is confidential and protected by law. In order to release information about treatment, a consent to release Information form needs to be completed by patient. Once this is in place, coordination of care with others can be initiated as needed. The exceptions to the confidentiality law are suspected child/elder abuse, harm to self/others, and when patient records are being subpoenaed as evidence during legal proceedings.

Most cash paying patients will get partially or fully reimbursed by their insurance companies for psychotherapy expenses. Please contact your insurance company directly for out of network reimbursement rates to make therapy more affordable.
Payment is due as per agreement, either upon services rendered or billed monthly. Cash, personal checks, Venmo or Zelle are accepted.

In order to avoid incurring the charge of a full session fee, sessions may be cancelled 24 hours in advance by notifying psychologist via telephone, text or email.
